A year wrapped in LOVE
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019..... So glad we made it!
What does LOVE mean to you?
Are you in love?
Do you love God, your neighbour?
How about loving yourself?
Thank God for the many lessons in the year 2018, I have learnt that when God said LOVE is the greatest (1 Corinthians 13:13), it carries so much weight.
I have heard of many stories and many suicides, I've also met people with love scarcity; not because they planned they planned it but sometimes, it's a result of the environment they found themselves.
The purpose of Jesus coming was based on a true love story, God Himself is love and we are exactly made in His image, love should be a natural thing to us too but unfortunately, our ignorance is killing us.
There are cases where people claim to love God and do everything to please people but too afraid to say the three words; "I love myself"
If people don't love themselves, they feel so insecure when other people show they them love 'cos they can't understand, this results to being unnecessarily defensive and paranoid.
Sometimes, not loving yourself can begin from unforgiveness or as people like to make good compensations for their actions; we say "I can forgive but I can never forget". If you truly forgive, you should also pray for the grace to FORGET.
Unforgiveness leads to bitterness, where is the space for love when the heart is already an archive of people's hurts, and offences?
We cannot say we love God that we cannot see when it's so difficult to love ourselves, apart from God; no one can love you like YOU.
Love God, love yourself then loving and forgiving others would be so easy.
Break this cycle of UNLOVING in 2019
Let love be your watchword!
There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love. 1 John 4:18
